Hoipolloi presents

STORY OF A RABBIT

With HUGH HUGHES

Here one minute, gone the next…

Since he was last at the Arts Theatre with Floating in 2007, emerging Welsh artist Hugh Hughes has travelled across the world, including visits to Sydney Opera House and festivals in Colombia, the USA and Singapore. Now he and Hoipolloi return to Cambridge with his award-winning show, Story of a Rabbit.

When Hugh finds his neighbour’s rabbit lying dead in his garden, the only sensible thing to do is to put it in a box. But it doesn’t fit. As he puzzles over what to do with the body, he starts to wonder how much of life disappears once we die...

Combining Hugh’s uniquely charming theatricality and his best friend Aled’s
music, Story of a Rabbit is a comic and curiously uplifting show celebrating the complexities of death that lifts the lid on life’s final mystery.

Cambridge-based Hoipolloi is one of the leading British theatre companies, touring all over the world with work that imaginatively engages its audiences and makes them laugh. The company celebrates its fifteenth anniversary this year.
