A distinguished dramatist, Ian Curteis’s 38 television plays have included The Falklands Play, Philby, Burgess and Maclean, Churchill and the Generals and Miss Morrison’s Ghosts. He originated and/or wrote many popular drama series, including The Onedin Line, Hadleigh and Crown Court. His radio plays include Eroica, Love and After the Break. The Bargain represents his return to the theatre, where he started, after 23 years in broadcasting.

Susan Hampshire is one of Britain’s best-loved actresses, recently successful for her role in the popular BBC1 TV series The Monarch of the Glen. She gained international acclaim and Emmy Awards for The Forsyte Saga, The First Churchills and Vanity Fair. Her stage career has included Shakespeare, musicals, classic dramas and light comedy.

Michael Pennington is one of the leading stage actors of his generation, renowned for his classical roles and for co-founding the English Shakespeare Company. Recent West End credits have included: The Guardsman, An Ideal Husband, Gross Indecency, Waste, Taking Sides and The Entertainer.

Anna Calder-Marshall’s numerous television and film roles range from Wuthering Heights and Anna Karenina to Zulu Dawn and Dr Who..
