Plan your journey to the Theatre

The main entrance to Cambridge Arts Theatre is located in St Edward's Passage, which is where you can find our Box Office. Our second entrance is on Peas Hill, just off the market square.

Travel Information

  • Car Parking

    There are three car parks within walking distance of the theatre. These car parks are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and members of staff are in attendance to provide assistance.

    Grand Arcade Car Park: The Grand Arcade car park has over 900 spaces for parking and is situated on Corn Exchange Street, just 2 minutes walk from the Arts Theatre.

    Queen Anne Terrace Car Park: a multi-storey car park with 600 spaces, which is a fifteen-minute walk away from the theatre.

    Car Parking for Disabled Users: There are parking spaces for customers with disabilities in two locations very close to the Theatre: four on Peas Hill and two in Wheeler Street. Parking is also available for Blue and Orange badge holders in the Lion Yard, Park Street and Queen Anne Terrace car parks. Parking is free for the first three hours however the concession for Disabled Users relies on a cashier being on site: the concession is available between 8.40am and 8.30pm (10.00am to 5.00pm on Sundays) and the ticket must be presented to the cashier before 8.30pm (5.00pm on Sundays).

    Your badge must be clearly displayed on your vehicle dashboard then taken to a duty attendant who will reduce your payment when you are ready to leave.

    Visitors to Cambridge Arts Theatre can receive a 15% discount on nearby parking spots across the city centre. You need to pre-book 24 hours in advance here using the discount code CAMARTS15.

    Historic Centre Pedestrian Zone: Parking is prohibited 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and motor vehicles are not permitted access between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday, except for special permit holders. Many drivers with a disability are eligible for these permits, which can be obtained by calling Customer Services on 0345 045 5204, who will take you through the application by phone.

  • Park and Ride

    Cambridge's Park and Ride service operates from five sites: Trumpington Road, Newmarket Road, Babraham Road, Milton and Madingley Road. A day return costs £3 (valid for one day), which includes the cost of parking your car. All Park and Ride buses are double door, low floor and easy access, appropriate for wheelchair and pushchair users.

    Buses run from Monday – Saturday until approximately 8:30pm at a ten-minute frequency, with a limited service on Sundays.

  • Bus Travel

    Cambridge Arts Theatre is a five-minute walk away from the City's main Bus and Coach Station in Drummer Street.

    The Bus Station hosts several local bus companies, and the main operator is Stagecoach who operates many local services. There are also direct services to and from London Victoria, as well as services to Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and stations throughout the United Kingdom.

  • Coaches

    Coach Drop off points are located on Pembroke Street near Free School Lane. You can then walk to the theatre in 3 minutes, by walking all the way along Free School Lane, turn right onto Bene’t Street and the theatre is just around the corner on the left.

    Madingley Road Park and Ride: Open Monday to Saturday, 7.30am to 7.30pm (Once the coach is inside it can exit at any time, it just can’t get enter again). Limited space first come first served basis £10 per coach, toilets and vending machines. Call 01223 321655.

    Cambridge Golf Driving range, Cowley Road. Approach from A14 or City Centre. Open daily from 9am to 9pm on weekdays, 7.30pm at weekends £10 per coach, toilets and vending machines. Call 01223 425000.

  • Train

    Cambridge Arts Theatre is a twenty-five minute walk from Cambridge Railway Station. The station is on a direct line from London Kings Cross (a direct train takes just fifty minutes) and London Liverpool Street (approximately one hour and thirty minutes journey time), and stations throughout the United Kingdom.

  • Cycles

    There is a rack for parking bicycles alongside the theatre by the entrance in St Edwards Passage or there are also bicycle racks on Peas Hill.

    The Grand Arcade cycle park, a 5 minute walk away, has covered space for over 200 cycles. It closes every night at 11.30pm.
