When elderly widow Daisy Werthan crashes her car one day in 1948, her son hires her a chauffeur, an African-American named Hoke Colburn. Siân Phillips (Daisy Werthan)
Dame Siân Phillips' extensive TV and film credits include I, Claudius (1976) and Dune (1984). Her theatre credits include playing Marlene Dietrich in Marlene on Broadway, Cabaret in the West End and the National Theatre's production of A Little Light Music. Her radio work includes BBC Radio 4's comedy The Leopard in Autumn.
Derek Griffiths (Hoke Colburn)
Derek Griffiths' West End credits include the original production of Beauty and the Beast, originating the role of Lumiere. Derek's other credits include the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Derek also recently starred as Freddie Smith in Coronation Street.
