A group of students performing at Cambridge Arts Theatre

Student & Community Productions

We want to support a wide range of community and student productions. We currently work with local theatre groups on a variety of productions including:

  • Bedazzle Arts: In July 2024, we co-produced the Foundation Programme’s summer showcase, Mythic Trials, featuring a cast of 16 neurodivergent and disabled performers. This partnership supported the performers’ professional development, and the final show demonstrated the importance of disabled people for our society, challenged stereotypes and stigmas, and showed positive representation.
  • Cambridge Amateur Operatic Society (CaOS): a friendly and sociable Cambridge-based amateur musical theatre company who perform an annual production on the Arts Theatre’s stage under a professional director, often with a full orchestra.
  • The Greek Play: A triennially performed co-production with a Cambridge University student group creating and performing classical Greek comedy, tragedy and satyr plays in ancient Greek. Cambridge University’s tradition of performing a play in Greek every three years extends back to 1882!
  • The Marlowe Society: an annual Shakespearian co-production, with a professional Director and Design team and student cast and production crew. The Marlowe is one of Cambridge's oldest student drama societies, and is dedicated to high-quality performances of Elizabethan, verse, and non-realist plays including classics and plays rarely seen on the professional stage.
