Creative Careers Youth Forum
Are you aged 16 – 25 and passionate about theatre or the creative industries? Do you want to explore exciting career paths while helping other young people develop essential employability skills? At Cambridge Arts Theatre, we’re looking for individuals to join a creative project that gives you the chance to make a real impact.
By taking part, you’ll work alongside other like-minded young people to create and deliver activities that help others build their confidence, learn about the many roles within the creative industries, and gain valuable skills for the future. This is your opportunity to boost your own career prospects while supporting others in their journey. Whether you’re interested in theatre tech, production design, or marketing, there’s a place for you!
What does taking part involve?
You will attend 6 Creative Careers Youth Forum meetings at Cambridge Arts Theatre to:
• Learn about different career pathways with a variety of industry professionals.
• Co-design a creative project pilot event for young people in Cambridge to learn about careers in the creative industries.
By joining our Creative Careers Youth Forum, you’ll have the chance to share your ideas, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and help improve access to careers in the creative industries. Refreshments are included, and you’ll receive £10 per session to cover travel expenses and a £40 voucher as a thank you for your participation.
Spaces are limited, so make sure to sign up by Friday 30 May to express your interest. We’ll reach out by 4 June to let you know if you have a place.

Work Experience, Ages 14 – 18
We offer 1-week work experience placements for students aged 14-18 in full time education. Our work experience placement is designed to offer an introduction to working at the Theatre.
Over the course of the week, students spend time with each Theatre department, from Technical to Marketing, Fundraising to Box Office. Placements always include a backstage tour, and wherever possible students also watch a show.
Our most recent work experience placements took place in July 2024. In 2025, the Theatre building will be closed for a transformative refurbishment of the auditorium and work experience applications are currently closed.
Please watch this space as we plan other ways to offer exciting opportunities to learn about a career in theatre!
