Giving Tuesday: 5 Ways You Can Support Your Theatre

This Giving Tuesday, we are sharing with you 5 ways you can support Cambridge Arts Theatre.

Buy a Ticket to our Pantomime – oh yes you did!
We wouldn’t be here without our wonderful audience - every time you buy a ticket you are supporting Cambridge Arts Theatre. Our pantomime is extra special - as we produce our own show right here at Cambridge Arts Theatre, every penny gets reinvested into our work. It’s the bread and butter of our Theatre, so if you’re coming to see Mother Goose you’re already making a big contribution to your local Theatre. Tickets are on sale now!

Volunteer
We love our Volunteers – the show could not go on without them and their dedication to our Theatre. We have an amazing team of approximately 80 volunteers from all walks of life who work hard to make sure that everyone feels welcome when they attend a show. Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks from ushering to selling ice creams, and play a crucial part in taking care of the needs and safety of our audience. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn more about Theatre, and see lots of incredible shows. Keep an eye on volunteering opportunities here.

Donate!
Your donation helps us look after our beautiful Theatre, and do exciting work with our local community, schools, and families. For example, every year we run an education project called Panto Wheels which subsidises tickets for children who may otherwise miss out on cultural opportunities due to social or economic barriers. We have been proactively expanding Panto Wheels for over a decade, and during that time the project has evolved according to the needs of our community. In 2022/23, Panto Wheels brought over 3,400 children from in and around Cambridge to see Dick Whittington and his Cat, including 100 foster children and over 150 refugees. Please donate here to support your Theatre!

Join our Supporters’ Circle
Our Supporters are the backbone of the whole theatre. Through their generous regular donations, they enable us to continue to stage wonderful, world-class theatre every week. You can join our Supporters’ Circle at any level, starting at £8.50 a month. We are delighted to offer a range of benefits to our members, and at all levels you can enjoy priority booking periods to make sure you snag the perfect seats every time, discounts on drinks at our bars, and offers for selected shows.

Becoming a part of our Supporters’ Circle, more than anything, is about becoming a part of our Theatre. At the higher levels, we offer more bespoke benefits, from invitations to our weekly drinks receptions with cast and crew, a dedicated personal booking line, and invitations to exclusive events and receptions including our glittering Panto Gala, use of our private spaces, and your favourite seats held for all shows. So much of our access and community work would not be possible without our family of Supporters, so if this sounds like something you would enjoy you can find out more and join here.

Buy an Ice cream or a Drink at the Bar
Did you know that traditionally ice cream was served during an interval to help cool down the audience? Auditoriums used to get very warm during a performance! Luckily, modern advancements in air conditioning have solved that problem, but theatregoers have now come to expect a tasty treat at half time. Our friendly Front of House Team, including our Volunteers, love selling ice creams and drinks and are there to help you.

We hope to see you at the Theatre soon!
